Biography

The Birth of Team Kaliber

Team Kaliber was formed in 2013 for the BOPS2.png Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 season being backed by several YouTubers and led by Jimmy "ChaosSilencer" M. The team was looking to build on the aspects of loyalty, teamwork, and dedication. Instead of attempting to take the roster of a huge team, TK simply built their own bringing together players they felt would be dedicated to the values the team believes in. With that in mind, the first roster was announced as being SharpEmote.png Sharp, GoonjarEmote.png Goonjar, NesloEmote.png Neslo, and TheoryEmote.png Theory. The team made their debut at UMG.png UMG Atlanta in which they showed just the kind of talent they possessed finishing an impressive 022nd 2nd behind only Complexity.png compLexity. Impressed with the placing, the team kept the roster and continued practicing. Unfortunately for them a performance like that wouldn't be replicated for the remainder of the game. At the MLG.png MLG PAX Prime Invitational the team took a 033rd 3rd place finishing and then matched that performance when they traveled to London for Gfinity.png Gfinity 2. The drop in placings continued at the final event of the season at UMG.png UMG Dallas where the team got 044th 4th even with 4 of the top teams missing the event because they were playing at the MLG.png MLG Fall Invitational. Despite this, the team decided to stick together going into the new game.

Looking for Breakthroughs

With the release of Ghosts.png Call of Duty: Ghosts the team was looking to finally get that breakthrough win that kept evading them. They were hoping to get some momentum going by attending a local LAN at eBash however they came up short placing 022nd 2nd. However, this was simply a warm up for the first real test with the new game which was the MLG.png MLG Fall Championship. While the team played fantastic throughout the weekend, they came up short again finishing 022nd 2nd. Once again they were unable to defeat compLexity who continued their dominating run. Following the event, Goonjar left the team to join EnVyUs.png EnVyUs. This was the first time the team had ever had to deal with a roster change. Fortunately for them, compLexity had just dropped ClaysterEmote.png Clayster leaving one of the best AR players in the game as a Free Agent. Team Kaliber took advantage of this and picked him up to round out the roster adding an exceptional player with unmatched hype in-game.

Going into UMG.png UMG Philadelphia team was going in with a chip on their shoulder, especially Clayster looking to prove his doubters wrong. Unfortunately for them, history repeated itself again. The team managed to reach the grand finals but fell short once more to compLexity finishing 022nd 2nd. Following the event, Clayster left for Optic.png OpTic Gaming leaving the team with a gap to fill again. After a few days, they decided to go with FormalEmote.png Formal who was coming from Halo but proved he was more than worthy of being on a top team at UMG Philadelphia. With no major LAN events in the near future the team started practicing for the COD-Champs2014.png Call of Duty Championship 2014 Online Qualifier.

On January 23rd, 2014 the team decided a change was needed breaking up the core 3 they have had since the team's founding. Neslo was let go and replaced by former member Goonjar who left EnVyUs to rejoin.
